Small Framed Textile Art - Seashore 2

A small piece of textile art in a real wood box frame.

A hand sewn seashore scene collaged and embroidered using vintage textiles and lace on a base of hand dyed french linen.  Real cornish sea shell fragments and a sprinking of glass seed beads complete the scene......along with a bullion stitched starfish and tiny distant seagulls flying over the sea.  The stitched piece sits on a watercolour painted background of khadi cotton paper.  

Raw and frayed edges on the textiles and naive, visible, stitching is intentional and part of the charm.

The frame is approximately 11.5cm by 11.5cm and 3.2cm deep.  It will sit on a shelf and has an attachment on the back so you can hang it on a wall if wished.  It is unglazed so that the texture of the textile and mixed media work can be seen more clearly.

A lovely gift for a coastal and seashore loving friend or loved one.......or a super self gift.
