Small Framed Textile Art Flowers 03

A small piece of textile art in a real wood box frame.

A hand sewn floral scene collaged and embroidered using vintage textiles, sari silk and silk fibres on a base of hand dyed vintage and french linens.  Embroidered blooms grow from a grassy bed of recycled sari silk.  

Raw and frayed edges on the textiles and naive, visible, stitching is intentional and part of the charm.

The frame is approximately 11.5cm by 11.5cm and 3.2cm deep.  It will sit on a shelf and has an attachment on the back so you can hang it on a wall if wished.  It is unglazed so that the texture of the textile and mixed media work can be seen more clearly.
