Mini Tin Pincushion G

This mini pincushion is perfect for projects on the go or just for a sweet decoration.

Influenced by my love of my allotment it is made from a piece of tea dyed calico and a tiny old patisserie tin.  It is stuffed with 100% pure british sheep wool and features a small hand dyed vintage cotton strawberry along with embroidered blooms.

The little tin itself is highly patinated, it shows the signs of its age and these tell the story of it's useful past life.  I think this is important and have intentionally left it in this condition rather than polishing it.  I imagine all the tasty treats that were once baked in it and the pleasure they must have brought.  It would once have been a valuble and cherished item in the kitchen.

The pincushion is approx 4.5cm in diameter by approx 3.5cm deep.
