Antique Key in Box

A pretty and unusual piece of textile/mixed media art inside a vintage watch box.

Made using hand dyed vintage textiles and lined with fragments of antique deeds, with fragments of lace and a scattering of embroidered blooms.  It features a rusty antique key....I often wonder what it was the key used to unlock, I like to think it was an old box in which were kept secrets and treasures.

A decorative piece made to sit on a shelf, sideboard or in a cabinet.  A perfect gift for a vintage loving friend or loved one.  

It measures approx 113cm by 11cm closed and 27cm by 11cm fully open.

The case is a vintage item and therefore shows signs of its age and history.  There is a bit of wear and tear here and there, I try to leave things in their found condition as I feel it tells a story about their previous lives and adds to the charm.
