Fly Agaric on Vintage Cotton Spool - N

A curious and enchanting looking hand dyed red cotton velvet Fly Agaric toadstool sat on top of a vintage wooden Dorcas machine embroidery thread spool.  It bulbous cotton stalk and gathered gills are made from vintage cotton, tea dyed to give it an aged appearance.  There's a small ceramic crescent moon hanging from the gills on the underside of the cap.  The fabric label reads 'the moon hung like a ball on high above the fairy glen' and is a line from a Eugene Thornton poem.

A lovely decorative gift for a toadstool/mushroom enthusiast or a lover of everything fairytale and magical.

It measures approx 18.5cm high and the toadstool cap is approx 9.5cm wide.
