Textile Needlebook with Velvet Toadstool - Wednesday 1st or Saturday 4th April 2026

Join us to create this sweet and very useful little needlebook, layered with scrumptious textiles, featuring a small velvet toadstool and tied with a sari silk ribbon. 

This project involves simple hand sewing and a lot of fun and creative therapy.  No prior skills are needed ....just the need for time out in a magical environment with like minded people and a gentle and calming atmoshphere whilst you sip tea, eat cake and create your own little work of art.

This workshop takes place at my new studio 'Fragments & Faerytales' upstairs in the historic courtyard at Thoresby Park, Nottinghamshire. There is plenty of parking (small charge of £3 for a full day) and a cafe in the courtyard too.  Refreshments such as tea, coffee, cold drinks and cake/biscuits are included in the workshop price. You will need to bring a lunch or use the cafe on a full day workshop.

Unfortunately there is no wheelchair access to the upper floor.

 A relaxing and magical time out from the outside world....a bit of essential creative therapy.  It will run from 10.30am to 3.30pm ish, with a short break at lunch to allow you to visit the cafe.

All materials and tools are provided.  You are of course welcome to bring anything you wish to include in your make or your favourite needle or scissors etc if you wish.

Please note that we use 100% wool felt in the needlebook.  I also, occasionally, have a small nutty but friendly dog with me that likes to greet visitors.  Please contact me should either of these things be of concern.

You are purchasing a place on the workshop/group and not a physical mail order product.

Workshop and Creative Social Group Bookings and Attendance……

 All Workshops and Creative Social Groups are to be paid for in full in advance to reserve your place. By booking a place on the workshop or group you are agreeing to the terms and conditions set out below. I will email you a confirmation of your booking.

All bookings are non-refundable. The exception to this is if there are insufficient numbers to run the workshop/group or if I am forced to cancel the workshop/groups due to myself being unwell, Covid-19 restrictions or other exceptional circumstances.  I reserve the right to do this. If this should arise, I will give as much notice as possible and you will be offered a refund or a transfer to another workshop/group date.

Workshops take a great deal of prior planning and preparation on the part of myself. Therefore, all participant cancellations forfeit their workshop/group fee. As a very small business it is extremely difficult for me to absorb these costs and keep my prices low.

At present there will be a maximum of 7 participants on each date. The minimum required to run the event will be 2. Should the minimum number not be achieved I will contact you as per above.

If you are unable to attend your booked workshop or group please contact me as soon as possible to let me know. If I can successfully resell you place then I can offer you a refund or possibly a transfer to another date. Alternatively, you may send someone else in your place but please inform me of who this will be so I can ensure they have all the necessary details.

Please do not attend if you have tested positive for Covid-19.

What’s Included…….

All materials and tools needed for the projects are provided. There may be certain projects where you would like to add in your own materials or ephemera for example and you are very welcome to bring them and use them. If you wish to bring your favourite scissors or needles etc then you may do so. Don’t forget to bring spectacles if needed for close work.

Refreshments are provided such as water, tea, coffee, cake or biscuits. Cake/biscuits may be made in a kitchen where nut products are stored and used. I will try my best to accommodate dietary requirements should you inform me of this although it may not always be possible.

The Venue and Accessibility…….

All workshops and groups take place in my new studio Fragments & Faerytales upstairs in the courtyard at Thoresby Park in Nottinghamshire. NG22 9EP.  Unfortunately at present there is no disabled access to the upper floor.

Intellectual Property…….

You agree not to reproduce, copy, duplicate to sell or resell any of the projects or part of the service.  Therefore you may not go into business by making copies of my work, the projects made on the workshops/groups or running the same workshops/groups using my ideas.  You may of course use the ideas and skills learned to create items for yourself for pleasure or gifts for friends and family.
